Last Doorway Productions is an independent film and media company founded in 2004 by horror hostess and filmmaker Reyna Young Gillette. In 2006, her husband and creative partner John Gillette joined as co-owner, helping take the company to new heights in horror and underground entertainment.

In 2007, they launched their first television series, which aired on Halloween night – The Last Doorway, hosted by Miss Misery – a show dedicated to showcasing horror, cult, and independent cinema. That success led to the creation of the nationally syndicated horror host series Miss Misery’s Movie Massacre in 2009, which has since aired over 200 episodes and continues to deliver thrills and chills to audiences across the country.

Since its founding, Last Doorway Productions has produced more than 20 short films, four feature films, one documentary, and a growing line of books and comic books. The company is also known for organizing immersive horror events like Zombie Proms, the long-running Nightmare to Remember Film Festival (7 years), and the popular horror convention Miss Misery’s Days of Terror.

Driven by a deep love for the genre, Last Doorway Productions continues to bring bold, creepy, and creative visions to life, one scream at a time.

Reyna Young Gillette

Also known by her alter ego Miss Misery, has been dubbed by the press as “The Queen of Horror in the Bay Area.” An award-winning director and actress, she has over 25 years of experience across theater, television, and film, with a career rooted in horror and action genres.

She is best known as the creator and late-night horror hostess of the popular syndicated series Movie Massacre, which she writes, directs, and produces. Her passion for film-making began at an early age after watching John Carpenter’s Halloween, inspiring her to pursue acting through commercials, independent films, and theater while in college. She soon shifted her focus behind the camera, writing and directing her first short film and discovering a love for directing.

In 2007, Reyna and her husband, filmmaker and Musician John Gillette, founded Last Doorway Productions, debuting The Last Doorway on Halloween night and introducing the character Miss Misery. The series ran for 88 episodes and led to Movie Massacre, now a syndicated television show. Beyond television, Reyna has hosted Zombie Proms throughout the Bay Area and ran the horror short film festival A Nightmare to Remember for six years. She currently continues to write, direct, and produce feature-length horror films.

She and her husband have also launched Last Doorway Press, a publishing company that specializes in horror, thrillers, kids and YA romance books. Branching off on her own after years of traditional publishing she has over 50 titles to her name.
